The Arts at COPIA

Here at COPIA, food goes beyond the plate. In our gallery spaces, we take the art of food and wine way past the traditional still-life paintings. In addition to our permanent exhibitions, we feature a variety of changing exhibitions of contemporary art, photography, design and artifacts related to food and wine.

Forks in the Road, COPIA's centerpiece exhibition, examines contemporary culture through shared expectations of food and drink. Our Core Exhibition Gallery is home to an installation of Julia Child's copper cookware displayed on the pegboard wall designed by her husband from Julia's kitchen in Cambridge, Massachusetts. COPIA and the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History are the only two institutions to have the honor of displaying her kitchen.

American barns, fantastical cake decoration, and reshaped nature are just a few subjects that have been featured in COPIA's temporary exhibitions over the last few years. Our installations change regularly and feature the work of academics, architects, artists, metalworkers, sculptors, and photographers, among others. Follow the links to find out what's currently on, or check our future exhibitions to see what we'll be showing during your upcoming trip to the wine country.

In addition to the permanent collection and temporary exhibitions, we regularly present concerts, films, and lectures on topics related to food and wine. From small sculpture to the big screen, we're constantly finding new ways of making the art of food and wine an experience to remember.
