Externships/Intern Positions at COPIA

INTERN POSITION DESCRIPTIONS

COPIA  is looking for good candidates for our Internship Program for 2008. Our aim is to give the intern an experience relevant to their academic and professional endeavors, rather than just having them do routine activities.  Internships for 2008 will be unpaid, however we will work with interns to help find low-cost housing for those visiting the area and cover commuting expenses for local interns.

Students seeking a future career in museums, non-profits, arts and cultural centers, and tourism and hospitality will gain valuable hands-on experience in the growing stages of a young institution working with a team of dedicated, creative professionals.

Requirements:  Graduate student or college upperclassman currently enrolled in museum studies, art history, arts management, or liberal arts program; strong research, computer, organization and communication skills; demonstrated attention to detail.  Preference will be given to students participating in a supervised internship as part of their academic programs.

Normally, each of our internships will last 8 to 12 weeks and can be coordinated with the college sponsor. Following you will find job descriptions of the internship opportunities currently available at COPIA. We will work with you to provide credits for the students. Resumes, statements of interest and references may be sent to:  Human Resources, 500 First Street, Napa, CA 94559, or by email to careers@copia.org, or by fax to 707 265-5780.
